Incorrect Time
Firstly Iīd like to say that this program is brilliant and thankyou for making it free!!!
I installed it yesterday (downloaded from WebAttack) and didnīt notice until today that one of my clocks is wrong. I canīt get it right although all others seem to have the correct time. Red Deer, Alberta, Canada, is the problem and gives the time the same as for my home which is on Brisbane, Qld, Australia time.

Can anyone point me in the right direction to fix it as I canīt find the relevant info in the help file.

I will try to add a screenshot in the Image option.

Thanks in advance
Robyn

Re: Incorrect Time
sbaker,

Thanks for the clarification.  For the most part, I LOVE World Time.  I was just trying to get the time for Iraq correct and was a bit frustrated.  For some reason, the newer version has it as GMT +4 and it should be GMT +3.  Iīve switched back to the 5.5.2.748 for now.

P.S. Maybe you could somehow partner up with greenwichmeantime.com as they also have a great thing (website)going!

Location Database
As mentioned in the release notes for the 6.0 Beta - the ability to add and manage locations isnīt there yet - so itīs not going to work.

This mainly because Iīm looking at creating a web database here that will contain the master location list - and people can contribute, discuss, and download selected groups of locations...

The reason for this is that the location list was getting so vast that people were beginning to complain about having too much to select from. So, I have been looking for a way to simplify the whole location database area...

Please bear with me as I work through this - itīs the main reason that WT6 is still in beta...

Re: Incorrect Time
Hmmm. I went to WTLocMan and tried to edit Bagdhad to GMT+3 and it would not take the change.  It also has no DST option for countries such as Iraq.  Seems like the older version of WT was easier to deal with.  :-(

Re: Incorrect Time
Hey, thanks for your replies. I deleted the Red Deer clock and when I clicked on the Add A New Clock Object button, got a message saying The Location was not found in the current database so had to configure the clock after right clicking on it. I donīt think that was how I made the clocks originally - Iīm sure the config box came up first.

I deleted the clock before I read your replies so canīt say if I had it set to Local instead of location but sounds like I may have.

Anyway got Red Deer working so am happy - thanks heaps for your time!

Re: Incorrect Time
Check the īClock Typeī for the red deer clock - it should be set to "Location" and may be set to "Local"

"Local" clocks always show your system tiem regardles of the location chosen (choosing a location for a local clock is merely there to allow you to get Lat/Long for your home time zone and therefore all the supporting data that is calculated from it - but there is no way for WT to confirm those settings so itīs possible to choose the wrong location for a local clock.

Re: Incorrect Time
It works fine for me - also in Brisbane.  I would suggest that you try deleting the Red Deer clock, then add it again.  When you are adding it check that the time differential displayed in the right hand panel is -7.

If this doesnīt work it looks as if your locations file is corrupt.

You can alter the setting by running WTLocMan.exe which should be in your Program FilesPawprint.netWorldtime directory.
