Welcome to the new Support Forums
In an ongoing effort to provide better support we have created these support forums for both WorldTime and Versaverter - I hope you find them useful.

Re: Welcome to the new Support Forums
As it says right below the link:
"it is not designed to be viewed in your browser, but instead by news reader software."

you need news reader software to view it.

some examples:

http://blogspace.com/rss/readers

I use:
http://www.trillian.cc (has a plugin)

Re: Welcome to the new Support Forums
When I click on the RSS feed link (using NS7.1) I get a screen headed with the message

"This XML file does not appear to have any style information
associated with it. The document tree is shown below."

followed by the raw XML document. How should I use this link?

Re: Welcome to the new Support Forums
Yes clear enough.  I am happy to get a digest after say 10 posts rather then by time (days or week).  Look forward to it.

Re: Welcome to the new Support Forums
Oh, sorry if I confused the issue - it dosenīt help directly in terms of a digest - more to avoid inbox clutter - the RSS includes the most recent 25 posts or so (I canīt remember how many I set it to) in a first in first out configuration - so that could be used instead of email notifications - the digest is a bit more complicated for me to program - right now the entire forum code is realtime and involves no scheduling i.e. the site dosenīt know if it has been a week or not and thus wouldnīt know to send the digest.

Because this is one of my XDe modules and not just something Iīm using here - I try to be careful to make it flexable for as many people as possible - so...

What I will probably do is code something that sends out a digest after x number of posts (say 15 or so) which may be only a few days or as much as a month - depending on activitity. Rather then the weekly digest - that way I donīt need to rely on a server scheduler, which some of my forum customers may not have access to on their particular web host.

And... all that said - itīs a bit more complicated then anything else so it will take me a bit to get it all installed - thus - my RSS suggestion as a temporary solution ;)

clear as mud yet?

Re: Welcome to the new Support Forums
I see the RSS feeds have been placed at the bottom of the forum, but Iīm not sure how this helps wiht my issue of a digest.  The RSS feeds seem to be all the posts.  Only want those posts digested into one e-mail say each day or week.

Thanks.

Re: Welcome to the new Support Forums
Sorry to take so long to get back about this...

An RSS feed is a summary xml datase of some on-line resource that can be viewed using reader software - and now that I said it - I have to extract my foot from my mouth - because I havenīt provided a link to the rss at the bottom of the forum - (me = goober) anyway Iīll get that fixed in my forum code and provide a brief description of what the RSS feed is and how to view it along with the link - you can see a sample of one in the news section of this site.

Re: Welcome to the new Support Forums
Thanks.  Otherwise we get an e-mail for every post with option selected.  Without option selected we wonīt know about new posts.

Re: Welcome to the new Support Forums
- I should note - that there is an RSS feed - which would be a good alternative for the time being.

Re: Welcome to the new Support Forums
There doesnīt seem to be a profie option to get qa digest instead of a notification for EVERY post.  Did I overlook something?
